Ten (10) out-of-children in Bwari Local Government of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have now resumed school for the first-time following IA-Foundation intervention.
The girls, who are from different states in the Northern part of Nigeria all reside at a Niger-Abuja border after their families flee from their permanent residents due to insurgency and insecurity.
The children were picked from the streets by the Coordinator of Transit School Initiative where they were exposed to rudiments of education, hoping for a sponsor to support their transition to mainstream school.
Through one of the IA-Foundation campaigns, Mrs. Olamide Abudu, who is also one of the Foundation’s Ambassadors offered to sponsor the education of these ten (10) girls. In a thank you message to the Foundation, Mr Tijani Muqaddas who is the coordinator of the centre said: “We have no words to express our feelings and joy for the opportunity given to our children who have been out of school for years. These girls will live to remember the IA-Foundation. Thank you, IA-Foundation.”
The name of the newly sponsored children are:
Safiya Dani
Rahama haruna
Safiya Umar
Zainab Dani
Hajara Ali
Hauwa jibril
Amina Ana’s
Zainab Dauda
Khadija Mohammed
Dabasiya Murtala
All the girls have now been enrolled in a federal government primary school in their community and are excited to be in school with their peers.
