As part of our efforts to constantly engage government and non-government stakeholders on the issue of education, IA-Foundation has recently paid an advocacy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Education in Lagos State, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo.
During her visit, the CEO commended the efforts of the commissioner to ensure Lagos continues to provide good examples that government-owned schools can be structured, well-managed, well-equipped and efficient. She also thanked the commissioner for the efforts of the government to reduce the number of out-of-children in the state through the Project Zero Initiative.
Mrs Ibironke also reminded the commissioner of the need to ensure that children who roam around the street during school hours are picked and supported to get an education while recommending the promulgation of an education policy that mandates all parents, guardians or caregivers to send their children to school.
